JANUARY 16 PRESS CONFERENCE ON XENOPHOBIA IN RUSSIA

Moscow/Washington, D.C.-- A press conference on xenophobia, antisemitic propaganda and violent hate groups in Russia will be held at Moscow's Institute for the Development of the Press on Thursday, January 16 at 11:30 AM. The Institute for the Development of the Press is located at 20 Tverskoy Boulevard on the second floor (229-3192).

Participants in the press conference include Aleksandr Brod-director of UCSJ: Union of Councils for Jews in the Former Soviet Union's Moscow Bureau. Other speakers include: Oleg Panfilov, director of the Center for Journalism in Extreme Situations, Viktor Shnirelman, author of numerous articles on antisemitic ideology, Larisa Bitkaeva of the Center for Inter-Ethnic Cooperation, and Sergey Belikov, author of the book "Everything About the Skinheads."
