The Latvian Foreign Minister-Artis Pabriks-has condemned last week's attack on two Sri Lankan students in Riga, according to a January 16, 2006 report by the Baltic News Service. The students were assaulted by two young women who reportedly yelled racist slogans in English, along with “Get out of Latvia!” according to a January 16 report in the local newspaper Chas. Police are searching for the attackers, who may be charged with a hate crime.
