Kishinev- In the Pri-Dniestr Republic, a law on Cossacks has come into force. It defines the status of Cossackdom, reinforces traditional forms of self-rule, land use, and way of life. By law, the Black Sea Cossack Host is a part of the armed forces of the Pri-Dniestr Republic. Military formations made up of local Cossacks have been active since 1992, when they took part in the armed conflict on the Dniester on the side of the Pri-Dniestr Republic. And only after eight years have they received legal status.
