An internal investigation found no evidence of police misconduct related to a neo-Nazi attack last month on two Somalis, according to a February 15, 2007 report by the Baltic News Service. Aigars Berzins of Riga’s Main Police Department told the press that there was no proof to support the Somalis’ claims that after they were attacked, police refused to take their claims seriously, laughed at them, and drove them out of the station. Police are continuing to investigate the incident, the latest in a series of racist attacks to take place in Riga over the past year.
