An organization calling itself “The Armenian Aryan Party” has called for Israel’s ambassador to Armenia Rivka Kohen to be declared persona non grata, according to a February 11, 2002 report by the Arminfo News Agency. The group is upset at the ambassador for allegedly not giving the genocide of Armenians at the hands of the Turks in 1916 equal status with the Holocaust. The party’s statement asserted that the number of victims of the Holocaust has been overstated and that the Jews were behind the Armenian genocide.
