BIROBIJAN, March 18 (Itar-Tass) -- A religious organization in Birobijan is launching a new radio programme that will be broadcast on radio of the Jewish autonomous republic.
The radio programme titled Shalom (peace to everyone) will be on the air on radio of the Jewish autonomous republic for the first time on Tuesday night.
The Freid religious community based in Birobijan , which initiated the new radio programme, told Itar-Tass that the programme, broadcast weekly, will report about the life and activities of Jewish communities and organizations in the autonomous region, other regions of Russia and abroad.
Mordehei Sheiner, Rabbi of the Jewish autonomous republic, has agreed to be one of the anchors of the new radio programme. He will work on Birobijan radio on a permanent basis.
Earlier, Mordeihei Sheiner took holy orders in Israel.
