Israeli Woman Killed By Muslim Extremist in Azerbaijan

An elderly Israeli woman was killed by a Muslim extremist in Baku, Azerbaijan, the Israeli newspaper Yedi'ot Aharonot reported on May 12, 2003. Camilla Kritchevsky, age 75, who emigrated from Azerbaijan to Israel three years ago, was visiting relatives in Baku when she was stabbed to death by a Muslim neighbor on May 3. The murderer reportedly confessed to police that he is a member of the extremist Wahhabi sect and believed that by killing Jews, he would be guaranteed a place in heaven.
