Two neo-Nazis were given suspended sentences after being found guilty of attacking a Brazilian woman in 2006, according to a May 30, 2007 article in the local Russian language daily Chas. Valentin Leonov and Denis Dubrovsky participated in the December 10 attack on two Latvians and the Brazilian woman, whom they told to "go home" after throwing a bottle at her face. Both were sentenced to three and two years respectively, and Mr. Dubrovsky was also stripped of the right to drive a car for eight months. The attack was treated by prosecutors as a case of "hooliganism" rather than a hate crime. It is not clear from the report if the other three participants in the attack were ever identified and charged.
