Neo-Nazis Attack Anti-Fascist Journalist in Moscow as Police Look On

(June 28, 2007)

A group of neo-Nazis attacked an anti-fascist journalist in Moscow in full view of two policemen sitting in a nearby car, according to a June 27, 2007 report by the Sova Information-Analytical Center. Aleksandr Chyornykh was surrounded by a group of neo-Nazis on June 23 who punched him in his face. The extremists left after noticing the policemen watching them from their car. However, the officers did not bother getting out of their vehicle, and when asked by Mr. Chyornykh why they hadn't helped him, they allegedly answered that they had other things to do. The attack was caught on film and the victim claims to have recognized one of his attackers--a member of the neo-Nazi group Format-18.
