Vandals desecrated a Jewish cemetery in Riga on September 12, according to a September 15, 2003 report by MIGnews. MIGnews cited a Jewish Agency representative in the Baltics (Shlomo Kim) as saying that 25 gravestones were vandalized with swastikas and the words SS painted on them and that the cemetery’s synagogue was vandalized as well. The president of Latvia has publicly demanded that police find the culprits.
