Moscow Neo-Nazis Sentenced for Murder

(October 31, 2007)

Two 16-year-old neo-Nazis were sentenced to nine years in prison each for murdering a citizen of Turkey, according to an October 31, 2007 report by the Russian Jewish web site Jewish.ru.  The crime took place on November 27, 2005 near the Moskvich soccer stadium.  The youths attacked two citizens of Turkey, one of whom later died from his injuries.  The court found the suspects guilty of aggravated assault motivated by ethnic hatred--a rarely employed section of the Russian Criminal Code.
