Menorah in Latvia Vandalized

(December 30, 2005)

A public menorah in Latvia was vandalized.

Police launched an investigation after vandals toppled the 16-foot menorah in the capital of Riga early Thursday, breaking some glass parts. The menorah was repaired and re-erected. The vandalism is believed to be the work of hooligans, but not motivated by anti-Semitism.
